La Tête Dans Les Nuages

why is it more sustainable?

Berlingot is a bean bag chair made entirely with non-virgin materials.

The outer cover is produced by upcycling hot-air balloon canvas and advertising canvas, the internal cover reuses locally sourced duvet covers that are discarded by Parisian luxury hotels, and the filling is made with recycled polystyrene balls, obtained by grinding used-up packaging.

Materials are collected within a limited distance from the workshop, smaller for the components that make up the most of the chair: within 30km for the polystyrene filling (70% of total chair weight), within 50% for the inner canvas (25% of total chair weight), within 1000km for the hot-air balloon canvas (3% of total chair weight).
To extend the life and use of products, the outer cover is removable and washable, and all individual components can be purchased separately and replaced in case of need. Also, the company offers free repair kits to mend the outer cover canvas.

All La Tête Dans Les Nuages products are made locally in France. The company also collaborates with local work-integration associations such as Mode Estime and the work support office (ESAT) of the city of Limeil-Brévannes.
