why is it more sustainable?

Fordite is a rug made with recycled yarn.

The yarn comes from internal production offcuts and is a mix of Himalayan wool, pure silk, and aloe (a strong yarn obtained from the fibre of a nettle plant).

All cc-tapis rugs are handmade. From washing and dyeing to knotting and finishing, everything is done manually by skilled artisans in Nepal. Final washing reuses collected rainwater.

To support weavers’ families in Nepal, cc-tapis has founded CC-FOR-EDUCATION, a non-profit organization that provides weavers’ children with education (from kindergarten to high-school graduation) in private schools.
