jute tile

Atelier LVDW

why is it more sustainable?

Jute Tile is a set of coasters made with jute fibre industrial waste.

Named Jute Tile, the material is made by mixing jute waste with porcelain plaster to obtain a solid composite.

Jute comes from the production waste of Forbo natural linoleum floors. Since this is the only waste material in the production of Forbo floors, Jute Tile products actually make Forbo manufacturing a zero-waste process.

All Jute Tile products can be returned to Atelier LVDW at the end of their life cycle. The material is turned back to its raw form – gypsum powder – and used in new products.
