erreur 404

James Haywood

why is it more sustainable?

Erreur 404 is a hand-crafted table lamp made with waste-based concrete.

All James Haywood lamps are made of a particular kind of waste-based concrete which replaces Portland cement with furnace slag (a by-product of the steel industry) and incorporates other recycled materials (ceramics, glass, plastic chips…) in the aggregate. This material has a much lower carbon footprint than traditional concrete.

Plugs, switches, and bases are 3D printed with recycled polymers, and cables are made of recycled cotton.

Besides pieces belonging to defined collections, James Haywood lamps also include one-of-a-kind pieces coming out of experimentations in the studio or having minor defects.
