Ihaya is a lampshade made of woven straw, leather, and organic cotton yarn.

Production is carried out entirely by hand, from weaving to yarn dying.

A A K S’ lamp collection comes out of Weaving for Change, an initiative aimed at creating work opportunities for women from the Tuareg community living as refugees in Burkina Faso. This initiative is run in collaboration with UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency) and includes training to empower these artisans to build resilient and self-sustaining communities while at the same time preserving their traditional weaving craft.
