r.u.m.

Wehlers

why is it more sustainable?

R.U.M. (standing for Re-Used Materials) is a chair made entirely out of recycled materials.

The legs are made of recycled steel, and the seat and back upcycle fishing equipment. Both materials can be recycled again at end-of-life.

Raw materials are sourced from local fish farming companies in Norway and include a mix of worn-out fish nets, ropes and pipes from fishing operations. Manufacturing also takes place locally, creating a local closed loop between fishing – a major Norwegian industry – and locally made design.
