why is it more sustainable?

Felt is a chair made with recycled plastic felt.

The felt – that is OEKO-TEX certified – is produced from PET bottles, with 60 bottles used for every seat. The same seat can be adapted on 4 different types of legs, giving more options to one single component. At the end of the chair’s life cycle, all components can easily be disassembled and reused in new production processes.

All production takes place locally in The Netherlands, and manufacturing offcuts are repurposed, making the process nearly zero-waste. Packaging cardboard is often recycled.

Vepa repairs existing products, both updating them and using old components to make new products. It also takes furniture back at the end of life, ensuring components will have a new life.
