why is it more sustainable?

Stella is a coffee table made with recycled tights.

The composite is obtained manually by mixing old tights with recycled fibreglass.

Swedish Stockings makes tights with pre and post-consumer nylon waste. The company also collects old tights from any brand through its recycling program. However, making new tights from old ones is not yet an option, because the technology to separate the fibres (polyamide from elastane) is not commercially available. So, old tights are given a new life in the form of furniture.
