Emeco

why is it more sustainable?

Navy is a chair made entirely out of recycled aluminium.

First conceived in 1944 to be used in American submarines during World War II, it’s been in production ever since.

Navy chairs are completely handmade following a proprietary 77 steps-process: from cutting and bending aluminium sheets to final polishing. Components are welded together and no hardware fasteners are used, making each chair a unique aluminium piece. Trusting the reliability of its making process, Emeco guarantees Navy chairs for 150 years.

Emeco uses a variety of non-virgin materials in its products and is working on reducing the impact of its entire supply chain, openly sharing progressive improvements on its website. Emeco has also started to measure and declare the carbon footprint of its products, starting from the Navy chair.
