why is it more sustainable?

Materia Madura is a tray made of organic waste.

The material is a mix of plantain peels and used coffee grounds sourced from local restaurants and coffee shops in Puerto Rico. Both foods are widely popular and appreciated locally, making this material particularly relevant to the area it comes from.

The material can biodegrade under particular conditions and Materia Madura takes products back at their end-of-life, to reuse the material over and over.
